Replacing the End Stop and End Stop Clip with spring

How to replace parts 2027 & 2028 on a GoJak

The clip serves as an important safety feature that prevents the unit from coming apart under load. If the clip becomes bent, it is usually due to one of two conditions:

1. The unit has been subjected to a load that exceeds its rated capacity.

2. The unit has not been properly lubricated, causing increased metal-on-metal friction and higher operating stress on the components.

To reassemble the mechanism correctly:

- Use the diagram below as a reference for repositioning part 2028.

- Part 2027 functions as a retainer that holds 2028 in place. One end of part 2027 should rest on the axle, while the other end must sit in the groove on part 2028.

- The spring is installed into the pre-drilled hole on part 2012.

- Before reassembly, verify that part 2027 is not bent, as deformation can affect proper engagement and safety.

- For best results, position all components (2027, 2028, and the spring) in their correct locations first, and then insert the ratchet axle back into the body axle.

Following these steps helps ensure the mechanism functions as designed and maintains its safety performance.
