Left vs Standard GoJak Configuration
When using a standard GoJak®, the pedal is positioned on the left side and rises towards the right when the jack is inserted around the tire.
If the steering wheel is turned and locked to the right, you should utilize a standard GoJak®. Conversely, if the wheel is turned and locked to the left, a left GoJak® is the appropriate choice.
This unique pedal orientation is crucial in scenarios where the vehicle is locked or disabled, and the front wheels are positioned at a sharp angle. In such cases, operating a standard GoJak® can be challenging, as the foot pedal may end up pointing towards the wheel well on one of the front tires. This is where a left GoJak® becomes particularly advantageous, as its pedal orientation allows for easier jacking when working with a sharply turned wheel.
Left GoJak®s have proven to be especially beneficial in the towing and recovery industry, where operators may not always have the ability to straighten the steering wheel and must maneuver the vehicle in its current position.
If you can consistently straighten the steering wheel of the vehicle, using a standard set of GoJaks® will suffice. However, having one or two left GoJaks® on hand can be extremely useful in situations where straightening the wheel is not an option.
